IM Elijah Emojong wins 3rd Capablanca Cup

IM Elijah Emojong of Uganda emerged as the winner with a perfect score of 5/5 in the 3rd Capablanca Cup Chess Championship held at the Braeburn School, Gitanga Road. He took home a cash prize of KES 8,000 and a glittering trophy.

In second place was Githinji Hinga with 4.5 points, and he went home with KES 5,000 and a trophy. 

The hotly contested event saw 57 players battling for honours over the weekend of 16th and 17th February 2013.

Nairobi Chess Club were the event organisers.
