Chess players in Nairobi are eagerly waiting for a novel chess tournament that is set for 17th April 2016 at the Oshwal Sports Complex, Parklands, Nairobi.
This event is open to all those above 40 years and is expected to attract a large crowd of players. Leading the pack will be some elite players like Peter Gilruth, Larry Kagambi and John Mukabi. All these 3 players have represented Kenya at number of Olympiad events and expect to give the pretenders to the throne a tough time.
The brain child of this event is keen chess player Karim Rahemtulla of Kam Pharmacy.

Eligibility: Players born on or before 17 April 1976
Classification: FIDE rated (Rapid)
Section: Open (first 50 players to register)
Format: 6 rounds Swiss System
Time Control: 25 mins per player per game
Entry Fee + KES 27 via M-PESA to 0724 544 953 (Paras Gudka) :
- Before 1st April: KES 750
- On or after 1st April: KES 950
Registration Deadline: 8 pm on Friday, 15 April 2016 (no entries after this).
