2016 Africa School Individuals Chess Championship

110 chess players from 7 African federations are taking part in the 2016 Africa School Individuals Chess Championship.  The event is being held at the Peacock Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia and runs from 11th to 17th December 2016.

Kenya has sent a team of 9 players and 9 accompanying persons for this event.  The Kenya team is made up of the following names;

1. Reeyan Gosrani – U9 Boys – Official Player
2. Odongo Lwanga – U9 Boys – Additional Player
3. Naiya Gosrani – U11 Girls – Official Player
4. Vedhika Seshadri – U11 Girls – Additional Player
5. Aguda Lwanga – U11 Boys – Official Player
6. Samesh Arul – U11 Boys – Additional Player
7. Krishi Shah – U13 Girls – Official Player
8. Reanna Varsani – U15 Girls – Official Player
9. Sumit Deshpande – U15 Boys – Official Player

Kenya’s best medal prospect seem to be in the Girls U13 where WCM Krishi Shah is top seed with a rating of 1561.
