Kenya scoops medals at African Schools Individual Chess Championship.

Kenya finished overall fourth  at the just concluded African Schools Individuals Chess Championship 2016 in Lusaka Zambia after amassing 5 medals, 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals.

Botswana were the overall winners with 3 Gold medals and 3 Bronze medals while hosts Zambia were second with a total of seven medals: 2 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.

South Africa finished third with five medals: 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze.

Kenya was represented by nine players, and won its medals in the following categories

Under 9 Boys Odongo Lwanga Amol a Bronze medal and a Candidate Masters (CM) title.
