Mombasa Chess Club have finally announced the long awaited prize structure of the forthcoming 2017 Mombasa International Open Chess Tournament which is set for 19th to 22nd April 2017.

Their announcement set the social media circuit on fire with their massive and unprecedented KES 100,000 (USD 1,000) top prize and with the total prize fund being KES 400,000 (USD 4,000).
This kind of prize fund is expected to see scores of Ugandan, Tanzanians and possibly Zambians coming to grab a piece of the action.
