7th Capablanca Cup Chess Tournament
The long awaited 7th edition of the Capablanca Cup takes place this weekend 20th & 21st May 2017. The venue will be the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) which is located along Wayaiki Way, Nairobi.
This year’s edition has been sponsored by long time supporter of Nairobi Chess Club, Dr Mujahid Din in honour of his late dad Mohamed Younis Din who was a chess aficionado in his days.
Another sponsor of this event is Aslam Adam who resides in the United Kingdom.
A strong contingent of Ugandan players are expected to take part in this event which boasts a cash prize fund of KES 60,000 (USD 600) with the winner taking home KES 15,000 (USD 150).
