Chess players in Rwanda got an unexpected treat last week when GM Sriram Jha of India visited Kigali on a private visit.
The Rwanda Chess Federation (FERWADE) took this opportunity to organise a 6 player simul at the Classic Hotel in downtown Kigali.

The final result was 6-0 in favour of GM Sriram Jha.
FM Sriram Jha has competed in the 2009 FIDE World Cup by virtue of winning the Asian Zone 3.2 Chess Championship a year earlier.
His peak rating was 2511 in January 2010.
He is married to IM Subbaraman Vijayalakshmi who is a two time sliver medalist on board 1 at the 2000 and 2002 Chess Olympiads. She is also the recipient of the 2000 Arjuna Award. See Arjuna Award.
