36th Mt Kenya Junior Chess Championship

The 36th edition of the Mt Kenya Junior Chess Championship came to an end last Sunday 9th July 2017 at Tumutumu Girls High School in Nyeri.

The event was a resounding success with just over 340 participants from 19 schools within the region.

Primary schools

1. Nyeri Good Shepherd Academy.
2. Nyeri Moi Complex Primary School.
3. Nyeri Hillstead Academy.
4. Consolata Primary School (Othaya).
5. St. Teresa Primary School (Othaya).
6. Brookfield Academy (Karatina).

Secondary schools

1. Kiarithaini Boys Secondary School.
2. St. Mary’s Boys Secondary School – Nyeri.
3. Kanjuri Boys High School.
4. Baricho Boys High School.
5. Karima Boys High School.
6. Muranga High School.
7. Kenyatta High School (Mahiga).
8. Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School.
9. Karima Girls High School.
10. Mugoiri Girls High School.
11. Tumutumu Girls High School (HOSTS).
12. Kabiruini Girls Secondary School.
13. Kiine Girls High School.

The event was run in separate sections for U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 & U18 for both Boys & Girls.

The 37th edition of the Mt Kenya Junior Chess Championship will be held next term at Moi Complex Primary School in Nyeri.
