Nane Nane Youth Chess Championship


The ‘Nane Nane Youth Chess Championship’ took place at the Peacock Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania on 8th August 2017.

Nane Nane Day on 8th August is celebrated in Tanzania to recognise the important contribution of farmers to the national economy.

The event was organised by CM Nurdin Hassuji of Zanaki Chess Academy.

A total of 62 players took part in an event that was run in different age groups – U16, U12, U10 and U8.

Suhana Patel from Kenya won the U8 group with a clean 6/6 points.

Cleophas Charles was the clear winner in U16 with 5/6 points.  Cleophas Charles represented Tanzania during the  Zone 4.2 Team Championship U16 which was held in Mombasa earlier this year
