The eagerly awaited Tanzania Open Chess Tournament will run from 23rd to 26th November 2017. The venue will the Peacock Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam.
The event boasts a cash prize fund of TSH 2,065,000 (USD 1,000). The winner will take home TSHS 800,000 (USD 360).
Tanzania Chess Federation are the organisers of the event. The sponsors include Tanzania Chess Foundation and Kasparov Chess Foundation Africa.
This is the 3rd edition of the event and past winners have included;
2015 – IM Elijah Emojong (Uganda)
2016 – IM Arthur Ssegwanyi (Uganda)
