Waridi Chess Ventures in partnership with Challenge Aid – Africa on Saturday rolled out a Chess Trainer’s programme for Schools of Hope located in disadvantaged areas in the country.

The venue was the Church Army Headquarters, Jogoo Road, Nairobi.

The workshop held on 30th September 201 attracted 22 participants from various schools including; Kiandutu Primary School in Thika, Valley Bridge School in Huruma, Mathare 4B Primary, Tumaini School in Kiambu, Makina Primary, Bethel Primary, St. Jerome School, Tumaini Raila School, Gituamba Primary in Dandora, Kambi Moto School in Huruma and Kawangware Primary.

Lawrence Kagambi (shown on the left with a coat) is the CEO of Waridi Chess Ventures. He is the 1990 Kenya National Chess Champion won numerous other titles including the 56th Nairobi Chess Club Championship. He is also a FIDE Instructor and FIDE Arbiter.
