Vasanth Ramesh cruised to an easy victory in the 5th edition of the Festival of Friendship Games (FoF) chess tournament held at the Goan Gymkhana Club in Nairobi on 19th November 2017.
The 5 round event attracted a total of 33 players in the Open section with Vasanth Ramesh getting a perfect 5 points. In second place was Subham Rai who got 4.5 points.
The U14 Section attracted a total of 26 players and the winner was Reeyan Gosrani with another perfect 5 points. In second place was Harshil Gudhka with 4.5 points.
Festival of Friendship Games brings various communities together to compete in various sporting events like football, tennis etc.
A total of 33 players took part in the Open and 25 in the U14 group. The 2015 edition attracted only 11 players in the Open and 27 in the U14.
