Nairobi Chess Club elects new officials

Nairobi Chess Club has elected new officer bearers after their Annual General Meeting.

The 60th Annual General Meeting was held on 2nd December 2017 at the Goan Gymkhana Club.

The elected officials are as follows;

Kim Bhari – Chairman

Peter Gilruth – Vice Chairman

Warren Pollock – Secretary

Mushfig Habilov – Director of Play

Roberto Villuela – Treasurer

Willy Simons – Committee member

Mehul Gohil – Committee member

Ian Masaa – Committee member

The club members resolved to improve standards and to have smaller but stronger events in the coming year.

Nairobi Chess Club is the oldest chess club in East & Central Africa having been formed on 26th February 1958.

The club continues to meet every Saturday afternoon at the Goan Gymkhana Club from 2pm to 6pm.  Daily membership is KES 100 (USD 1) and annual membership costs KES 1,500 (USD 15).
