Kisii Open Chess Championship
Details for the Kisii Open Chess Championship are now out.
The event runs over the weekend of 24th & 25th November 2018. It will feature an Open Section and Junior Section. The Open Section will be FIDE rated and will have a time control of 60 minutes plus 30 seconds.
The Junior Section will have 6 rounds and a time control of 25 minutes.

A large number of players are expected to take part due to the attractive prize fund of KES 100,000 (USD 1,000). Uganda’s top players will take part due to the attractive prize fund.
It is interesting to note that this is the first that Kisii town will host a chess tournament.
Kisii is a city in south-western Kenya. It is the main urban and commercial center in the Gusii Highlands and the South Nyanza region.
