KENYA NATIONAL YOUTH AND CADET CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019 (KNYCC) SOUTH NYANZA REGION QUALIFIERS.
South Nyanza Region has already hosted it’s edition of the Kenya National Youth Chess Championships 2019 (KNYCC) Qualifiers. This event was held on 9th & 10th March, in Kisii School, Kisii County.

A total of 77 students from 6 schools participated in the qualifiers. The schools were St. Joseph’s Nyabigena Boys, Ringa Boys, Sironga Girls, SCMN Kegati Girls, Set Greenhill Academy and the hosts Kisii School.

The 6 round classical event was played over two days with each player having one hour to complete their game.
The following topped their respective age categories and have also qualified for the Final Phase. The final phase will be held on 5th – 8th April in Nyeri County. Top players were awarded Certificates of Merit while all players got a Certificate of Participation.
