High drama at the World Team Championship Day 2 going on in Astana, Kazakhstan when the USA obtained a shock win over China in the Men’s section.
Abhiban B v Parham Maghsoodloo
The young Iranian team managed to draw against India. Adhiban defeated World Junior Chess Champion Parham Maghsoodloo.
In the Ladies section, Russia beat Armenia with a comfortable 3.5 – 0.5 win.
Team Egypt
Egypt in the Men’s section faced the powerful Russian squad today. They drew two games and lost 2 to go down fighting.
GM Sergey Karjakin faced GM Bassem Amin in a Kings Indian game. Amin pawn storm on the King’s side might have looked scary but, Sergey managed to pull out a win.

Hesham on the other hand had a difficult position in his game against Artemiev before he blundered in move 35.
