Joseph Methu now leads Kenya Open

Joseph Methu grabbed the lead during day 3 of the ongoing 2019 Kenya Open. Methu defeated Larry Kagambi in round 5 and Joseph Atwoli in round 6. He now has 5.5 points out of 6 games.

FM Harold Wanyama had a tough day. He defeated upcoming youngster Elvis Likoko in round 5 but blundered into a mate in round 6 against Joseph Panchol.

Amos Simiyu who was leading at the end of day 2 seems to have lost steam. He crashed to two consecutive defeats against Brian Adorwa and Ben NgukuAmos Simiyu now has only 4 points and lying in 11th position.

The star of the day was, however, was in the Ladies section. WCM Joyce Nyaruai has won the Ladies section with a round to space. Her powerful performance means that she has 6 points out of 6 rounds while her closest rival has only 4 points.
