Thika Road Christian School Junior Chess Tournament

The Thika Road Christian School Junior Chess Tournament, took place on the 29th of June 2019 at Thika Road Christian School in Roysambu constituency.  Mini-Chess Kenya organised the tournament in conjunction with Thika Road Christian School (TRCS).

TRSC  now joins a growing number of schools who are actively promoting chess as an activity.

The event attracted a total of 105 junior chess players from over ten schools and chess clubs. The young chess players battled it out in the 6 round tournament with a time control of 25 minutes per player per round.

The event ran according to the usual age categories U8, U10, U12, U14 and U18. The top three in each group received trophies and medals.

Thika Road Christian School

The school is a Christian based faith one which was established in 1985.  It is situated in Kasarani along Thika Road and has just over 1,000 students.
