James Panchol wins Garage Blitz Chess Challenge
James Panchol was the winner of the Garage Blitz Challenge last weekend.
The swanky Garage Bar & Grill in Thika was the venue for what was the town’s first competitive chess tournament.

The well-attended event drew in a crowd of 60 enthusiasts including some of Kenya’s top players. DJ Adam provided the music while the blitz took place.

The event held on 10th November 2019 had 11 rounds with 5 minutes per player. A total of KES 40,000 (USD 400) was up for grabs.

Terrian Chess Academy was the organiser and which was proudly sponsored by Garage Bar & Grill.
The owner of Garage Bar & Grill is also a well-known motoring enthusiast popularly known as ‘Spike‘.
