Ballebako Kokou Difendramakada crowned King of Togo Chess

Ballebako Kokou Difendramakada Jacques is the proud winner of the 2021 Togo National Chess Championship. He won the event with 7.5 points out of 9 rounds to go home with CFA 500,000 (USD 800).

Amega-Dzaka Komi Nukunu also ended up with 7.5 points but had an inferior tie-break.  Egbe Kossi Thierry was third with 6.5 points.

Yenga Justine Anassika was the best lady player with 2 points.

CM Ephoevi-Ga Adama Mawulikplimi, who is a four-time champion, found the going tough. He ended up with 5 points and 6th in the ranking.

The 2021 edition attracted only 16 players and ran from 14th to 17th October 2021. The time control was of 60 minutes and 30 seconds per move. The venue for the event was the Centre Eco-Village à Davié which is about 30 km from the capital Lome.

Yakini Tchouka the defending champion did not take part.
