Madelta Glenda crowned World Women’s Amateur Chess Champion

Madelta Glenda has been crowned the 2021 World Women’s Amateur Chess Champion U1700 after winning her final game in Rhodes, Greece.  She becomes the first Kenyan to win a world chess title.

Madelta Glenda kept her cool and dismissed Mozah Al-Moaamari from the United Arab Emirates in the last and final round of the event.

She wins Euro 600 for her efforts and free accommodation with full board provided from the Local Organizing Committee of next year’s edition.
