The 2024 Zone 4.2 Individual Chess Championship

The 2024 Zone 4.2 Chess Championship, which ran from 11th to 17th May 2024 in Monrovia, Liberia, was a resounding success. Forty-four players from five federations participated.

Abdulraheem Abdulrahman Akintoye won the Open Section, while his compatriot Ofowino Toritsemuwa won the Ladies SectionAbdulraheem Abdulrahman Akintoye went home with USD 1,200 as first prize whileOfowino Toritsemuwa took home USD 800.

Nigeria dominated the event, clinching two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals out of the six available.
