Nairobi County Championship – CM Magana triumphs

The Nairobi County Championship has concluded with CM Ben Magana emerging as the victor in a fiercely competitive battle, securing 7 points out of the 8 rounds.  He triumphed over a formidable field of about 150 participants, claiming the first prize of KES 50,000 and a dazzling trophy.

Mark Nyola of Uganda and Gabriel Njuki were second with 6.5 points each, each taking home KES 30,000.

A blitz tournament held at the end of the day saw with about 140 participants saw Gong Thon Gong winning the event with 9.5 points out of 11 rounds.  He went home with KES 7,500.

The event ran from 19th to 21st October 2024 at the Wadi Delga Sports Complex in Runda, with an additional 300 juniors playing in separate age groups.
