Allan Chumba crowned Kenya National Blitz Chess Champion

Allan Chumba won the 2025 Kenya National Blitz Chess Championship with 8 points out of 9 rounds, beating a strong field of 128 competitors.  It was a crowning moment for Alan to win his first national title.

Newly crowned 2025 Kenya National Chess Champion Jadon Simuyu grabbed the silver medal with eight points as well, but a lower tie-break. Both Jadon and Alan equally shared the cash prize of KES 17,000.

Ten-year-old Muli Mumo Faraja took the silver medal with 7.5 points and went home with KES 5,000 as his cash prize.

WFM Joyce Ndirangu Nyaruai won the Kenya National Ladies Blitz title with a score of seven points out of the nine rounds to win KES 5,000.  The Kenya National Blitz Chess Championship put all the players in one group and then selected the top lady player.

The event, hosted at the Westwood Hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, was hosted just before the closing ceremony of the 2025 Kenya National Chess Championship.
