Equity Bank Chess Club off to Cairo

Equity Bank Chess Club made Kenyan chess history yesterday when they flew to Cairo, Egypt for the African Clubs Championship Cup.  The event runs from 23rd July to 1st August 2017.

The Egyptian Chess Federation in conjunction with the African Chess Union are the organisers.  Eastern Company SAE are the sponsors..

Veteran John Mukabi is the Team Coach with Victor Hongo as his assistant.  Benard Wanjala is the Team Manager and Njagi Kabugu is the Chef de Mission.

KCB Chess Club is the second Kenyan team taking part in this event.  They are expected to fly out today morning.
