Equity Bank Chess Club off to Cairo


Equity Bank made Kenyan chess history yesterday when their powerful chess team flew to Cairo, Egypt for the African Clubs Championship Cup which runs from 23rd July to 1st August 2017.

The event is organised by the Egyptian Chess Federation in conjunction with the African Chess Union and sponsored by Eastern Company SAE.

Veteran John Mukbai is the Team Coach with Victor Hongo as his assistant.  Benard Wanjala is the Team Manager and Njagi Kabugu is the Chef de Mission.

Kenya’s second team to this event is KCB Chess Club who are expected to fly out today morning.
