IM Rodwell Makoto of Zimbabwe visits Kenya

mucIM Rodwell Makoto of Zimbabwe visits Kenya

4 times Zimbabwe National Chess Champion IM Rodwell Makoto of Zimbabwe was in Nairobi recently.  The trip was sponsored by the Kasparov Chess Foundation Africa and the Paul Allen Foundation.

IM Rodwell Makoto who resides in South Africa is the 2012 South Africa Open winner and has played for Zimbabwe for 3 Olympiads (2012, 2014 and 2016).

He flew in on 6th April 2017 to 13th April 2017 and ran several high intensity chess clinics for selected trainees.  IM Makoto also got a chance to visit some of the schools where much needed chess equipment was donated.

His visit comes soon after GM Kenny Solomon visited Kenya a few weeks ago.
